PLYO-SK8 is focused on skating speed & agility, emphasizing stride mechanics and dynamic edgework, by creating good habits to imprint proper techniques. The utilization of both the mini rink & skating treadmill is designed to reinforce what was trained and to assist in the successful transfer of the “learned behavior” to real ice.
We teach skills (through communication and demonstration), not just run drills! Telling a player to “move their feet or skate faster” does NOT teach them how to improve skating skills.
Each week introduces a new focus within a repetitive and progressive framework, emphasizing the importance of proper fundamentals as the cornerstone for growth and improvement. The synthetic mini rink boosts strength and power, while our coaches focus on enhancing stride starts and edge agility.
